Cadista coach Sergio González spoke to the media in the stadium's press room after the first victory of the season. "It was a match in which we could go down in history because it had been a long time since Cádiz had won on the first matchday in Primera División. We came out very well on the field, we gave frequency, intensity, and the public was well infected. We were better at the beginning. In the second half it was an exercise in survival. In the second half, they pushed forward. With Escalante's red card, we had to bail out. Last year it took us six matchdays to win the first matchday and this year it was the first one."

Double value of the victory against Alavés "It is an important match, even though it is the first matchday. It is a match in which if you win it has double value because they do not, and a priori they will be our rivals for not being in the lower zone. The team has shown its strength and soul and this result reinforces us even more to continue working."

Suffering for the victory. "The team is very clear about how it has to play, how it has to defend, how it has to suffer. It is very difficult to take the lead throughout the game. There are always going to be phases in which you have to suffer. Fali expresses well that you have to enjoy suffering while defending. It's important to play soccer with the ball and soccer without the ball."
