Cádiz CF played matchday 22 of LALIGA EA SPORTS against Athletic Club, at home, lining up with: Conan Ledesma; Iza, Fali, Víctor Chust, Lucas Pires; Alejo, Escalante, Rubén Alcaraz, Robert Navarro; Rubén Sobrino and Chris Ramos. Before kick-off, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the Sevilla FC fans who died while travelling to Madrid.
The game started with Cádiz CF well positioned on the pitch and with an equal feeling. In the 10th minute, Chris Ramos headed a side-footed free-kick from Lucas Pires over the crossbar.
In the 22nd minute, Cádiz had their second clear chance of the game, Rubén Alcaraz's direct free-kick, which Unai Simón had to clear for a corner. After the first half hour, Alejo headed wide of the visitors' goal from a cross from the left.
In the 37th minute, another chance for Cadista with a reverse by Sobrino on the edge of the area that ended with a left-footed volley. Unai Simón intervened again to send the ball out for a corner.
A direct free-kick from a free-kick by Lucas Pires, which flew just over the bar, saw Cádiz have the more dangerous chances in the first half.
The second half started without changes in both teams and with Athletic determined to find the Cadiz goal, accumulating several approaches. The visitors' attack lasted only five minutes, and the rest of the second half took place in a very even game with a clear lack of chances.
Sergi Guardiola came on for Sobrino and a few minutes later, Brian came on for Robert Navarro. In the 85th minute, Álex came on in place of Chris Ramos.
With no more notable chances, continuing the dynamic of the second half, the game came to an end.
