Gaizka Garitano's Cádiz added one more point in the standings after their visit to La Romareda and have now gone seven consecutive matches without defeat.
Cádiz started very well, constantly setting up in Real Zaragoza's half, looking for steals over the top and collecting dangerous chances.
In fact, seven minutes into the match, a filtered pass from Iza to Ontiveros could have meant the first yellow goal but, after the cutback, the attacker from Marbella lost his balance.
When the match was breathing in the middle of the first half, a double attempt by Ocampo could have made it 1-0. First, with a long-range shot that went narrowly wide. Just after, he set up a precise one-two with Javier Ontiveros who shot with his left foot, but his shot was caught by Poussin.
Just before the half-hour mark, it was Carlos Fernández who, after a through ball, tried his luck with a left-footed shot that, in any case, met the post before going wide.
The clearest chance came soon after. Iza stole in the opposition half and filtered the pass to Rubén Sobrino, who laid the ball off inside the area for Brian Ocampo. The charrúa, however, failed to connect with the ball when there was no goalkeeper and the play ended in nothing.
In stoppage time, David Gil saved the game for the Yellows with a hand after a long-range shot to send the ball to a corner.
After the restart, Cadiz soon tried their luck through Ontiveros, who, after three minutes, shot from the edge of the area with a shot that went wide.
In any case, the second half was characterized by the absence of chances for either team and, beyond the odd Cadista approach that was thwarted by the local defense, neither Zaragoza nor Cadiz managed to create danger for the opposing goalkeepers, ending the match with the initial draw on the scoreboard.
