Cádiz CF played the fifth matchday of the league against Racing de Ferrol at home. Paco López's team formed with: David Gil; Iza, Chust, Fali, Matos; Sobrino, Alcaraz, Fede San Emeterio, Escalante, Brian Ocampo; Chris Ramos. Before kick-off, a minute's silence was held in memory of Juan Granados, who played for #CádizCF between 1956 and 1959.
The game got off to a somewhat scrappy start with a number of stoppages in the first fifteen minutes of play. However, Cádiz had control of possession which led to several dangerous chances in the box.
The danger began to turn into scoring chances with chances such as the 19th: Brian Ocampo's cross at the near post, which Chris Ramos headed just wide. A few minutes later, Iza tried a long-range low shot, but Jesus Ruiz had to get down low to turn the ball behind for a corner.
The Cadista side continued to try with several approaches but without managing to put them away. With Cadista control of the game, but with the score at nil-nil and after a minute's stoppage time, half-time was reached.
The second half started with no changes. Chris Ramos had the first chance of the second half with a low shot from a free-kick that the visiting keeper denied on the goal line.
In the 57th minute, Alarcón and Ontiveros came on in place of Fede and Brian Ocampo. Racing de Ferrol took control of the ball for 10-15 minutes but without any dangerous chances. In the 68th minute, Bebé tried with a powerful shot from a long-range free-kick, which David Gil had to respond to with his fists. In the 69th minute, Mwepu came on to replace Alcaraz.
Cádiz CF regained control of the game through possession and high pressing. In the 78th minute, Ontiveros tried a long-range shot which the visitors' goalkeeper caught after a bounce. In the 83rd minute, Álex Fernández came on in place of Sobrino.
Cádiz CF continued to try until the end with several crosses into the box and shots from distance without finding the net.
