Javier Ontiveros has been officially presented as the new player for Cádiz CF. The presentation took place in the press room of the stadium on the morning of Thursday, June 20th. First, the president, Manuel Vizcaíno, welcomed the second signing of the 24/25 season, reviewing the reasons for his arrival and paying a heartfelt tribute to the well-known journalist Javier Mérida, who recently passed away: "As you know, a few days ago, a journalist friend of mine, Javier Mérida, passed away due to ALS, which is the only disease in Spain that causes a patient to die if they cannot afford their treatment. I was fortunate to say goodbye to him a couple of days before, with his family. He was a magnificent journalist, a football enthusiast, a fan of all leagues, and a good friend of mine. That’s why I’m presenting Javi. I asked him, as a knowledgeable and specialist, about Javi Ontiveros. The spark in his eyes made me realize I was making the right decision in signing Ontiveros. So, Javi, you come with a strong recommendation from someone who knew a lot about football. Javi, you’re coming to a place where people are very passionate, and now it's your turn, and you will do very well."

The new yellow player expressed his first words as a Cádiz CF footballer: "I am delighted to be here, with great enthusiasm and confidence. I am proud to be here, and I will give my all to achieve the goal."

Subsequently, he answered questions from the journalists present: "We had several offers from the First Division, Second Division, and abroad, but the project and the confidence they gave us here made everything very easy. Where you are wanted, you should be, and I felt that here."

Motivation. "I’m coming to a club where I know the fans are highly motivated by the goal. I’m coming with the highest possible expectations but without any pressure."

Family. "I’ve talked to some teammates, all positive. They told me that the team is a family, and that makes everything very easy."

Professional and personal maturity. "You only have to look at this year. Every child makes mistakes, but I’ve matured. Having kids has helped me grow. I’m here to excite people and to pursue the goal together."

Position. "As long as I'm on the field, I don't care where it is. I feel most comfortable on the left wing or as an attacking midfielder, but as long as I’m on the field, it doesn’t matter."
