Jorge Alberto González Barillas, Mágico González, performed the kick-off before the match against FC Barcelona corresponding to the fifth round of LaLiga Santander. The talented ex-footballer from El Salvador was given a standing ovation by the public in a high level reception before the match and coinciding with the 112th anniversary of the founding of Cádiz CF.
Mágico González saw the culmination of an intense week of activities, which have ranged from a visit to El Puerto de Santa María to present an award to Iza Carcelén, to a meeting with Cádiz CF Femenino and Cádiz CF Genuine in the front of the stadium, to a press conference with numerous media outlets.
Also, at halftime of the match between the yellow first team and the Culé team, the president of Cádiz CF, Manuel Vizcaíno, presented a yellow team shirt with the name of Pachín González, Jorge's older brother, who passed away in 2018.
The top Blaugrana leader, Joan Laporta, did the same, offering the former player an FC Barcelona shirt with the name of Jorge González. Both, as it could not be otherwise, with the 11 on the back.
