Friendly duel in Chapín between Xerez CD and Cádiz CF. A historic Cádiz derby to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the xerecista club. The fact that it was a friendly did not matter on the field of play, since both teams went out for the victory showing great intensity in each dispute for the ball. Of course, the first to warn were the cadistas with a shot by Álvaro Giménez from inside the area that went licking the post.
The cadistas were looking for the speed of Brian Ocampo and Iván Alejo on the wings to reach the vicinity of the Jerez area. Brian, from a distance, got to try it on several occasions without success, since the goalkeeper Nico was attentive to stop the distant shots. Before reaching the end of the first half, Lucas Pérez had the clearest chance of the game, crashing a long-range free kick off the crossbar. It was in these last minutes of the first half when the Cadistas got closer to the first goal, Álvaro Giménez having the last chance of the first act when he finished off with his head a cross from Arzamendia that Nico caught.
With zero to zero on the scoreboard, halftime was given and also the carousel of changes in the two teams. Théo Bongonda had the first great chance of the second half with a run that narrowly failed to end with a goal, as his low cross shot inside the box just missed the field of play.
In minute 70, as a result of a tough challenge on Rubén Sobrino, Xerez CD was left with one less player due to the expulsion of Alberto García, although after seven minutes it was Antonio Blanco who left the yellow team with ten players. With the game being played with ten players on each team, it was the Cadistas who dominated and managed to create more danger over the rival area.
Both teams had options to score in the final minutes, but both David Gil and César avoided it with some spectacular saves. Finally, the match ended with a scoreless draw.
