3-1 | Huge win for Cadiz against Villarreal

The fourth matchday of September saw Cádiz CF take on Villarreal CF at the Nuevo Mirandilla. The Cadistas started the game strongly, with Chris Ramos coming close with a header, but it was the Castellón side who took the lead after ten minutes through Sorloth, who took advantage of a Cadista error on the ball to beat Conan.

Sergio Gonzalez's men were not to be denied, and they were rewarded for their good work both in defence and attack with seventeen minutes on the clock, when Chris Ramos took advantage of a deflected ball in the six-yard box to fire home past Jorgensen and level the scores.

The intensity of the game was to increase with the sending off of Pedraza in the 22nd minute after an assault on Iván Alejo. Seven minutes later, the Cadistas were awarded a penalty when Jorgensen ran over Chris Ramos as the Cadiz player tried to get to a ball into space. Darwin Machis, from the penalty spot, made it two-one.

The Cadistas had the occasional chance to increase the gap on the scoreboard, but the visitors' defence and goalkeeper denied them any dangerous chances. With the score at two to one, after nine minutes of stoppage time, the referee called the game back to the dressing room. After the restart, the Castilians looked to create a threat to the Cádiz goal, but it was they who found the net again.

In the fiftieth minute, Darwin Machis, after breaking from the left, launched a strong 'whip' with his right foot from distance that went in at the long post. It was a real goal to make it three to one on the video scoreboards in the Cadista temple. After the goal, the Yellows sought to maintain their lead on the scoreboard, controlling the tempo of the game and arriving in one piece in the final minutes. The referee called the final whistle and the Cadistas took three points.
