Two teams from the same league, fighting for the same objective, showed from the start their intentions and, above all, a great deal of intensity in every ball played. After the initial score, the match looked set to be a great duel played in the middle of the pitch, which led to a constant clash without a clear owner of the game.

After half an hour of play, the first clear chance of the match arrived. Arnau Martínez shot at the front of the small area towards the goal, but the ball hit the face of 'Pacha' Espino and went to the back line. A minute later, Rubén Sobrino ran on the counterattack, got in front of the local goalkeeper and it was Juan Carlos who beat the Cadista striker.

At the start of the second half, Álvaro Negredo received in the area a ball from Iván Alejo from the right. The Vallecano striker, forced from the back line, put it to the heart of the area for the arrival of Álex Fernández, who shot at goal. The ball, after touching a defender, went crying into the net and the Cadista team took the lead on the scoreboard.

After the Cadista goal, the Girona players tried to take a step forward, giving way to a series of local approaches that were cleared by the yellow defense. Although Sergio González's men had chances to widen the gap, Juan Carlos and the red and white defense kept the danger away from their goal.

In the last minute of stoppage time, Girona FC was awarded a penalty. Stuani, from the eleven meters, beat Conan Ledesma who missed the ball by very little. In the last minute, Girona FC tied the match. Finally, a draw in Montilivi.
