1-0 | An unbeatable start

A goal by Fede San Emeterio in the first half gives the Cadista team the victory against Alavés.

The Cadista team confirmed their good start to the match with a goal from a set piece that would be key. Seven minutes into the game, a cross from the right side of the area, from a free kick, was headed in by Fede San Emeterio at the near post. The ball went into the goal under the watchful eye of Sivera to put the Yellows ahead on the scoreboard.

Sergio Gonzalez's team had some other dangerous arrivals. A shot by Roger in the area after a personal move by Chris on the baseline and a shot from outside the area by Darwin Machis were some of the closest approaches with a greater sense of danger. Both were repelled by Alaves' goalkeeper.

Roger Martí had a chance in stoppage time, but the score would be one-nil when the referee signaled the way for both teams to the tunnel. With the result against them, Alavés came out in the second half trying to pour over the yellows' area, waiting for the Cadistas to have a chance on the counterattack to widen the gap.

In the last minutes, Alavés stirred up the game in search of an equalizer, finding a Cadiz that was very solid defensively and had to battle with a man down during the nine minutes of stoppage time. The Yellows pulled their hearts out to avoid a draw and to score their first victory of the season.
