0-4 | Tough defeat against Athletic

Iñaki Williams, Guruzeta and Berenguer scored Athletic's goals.

On Monday, Cadiz CF and Athletic Club met at the Cadista stadium. This match of the third day began with two teams eager to test each other from the opening whistle, seeing Athletic with high pressure that made it difficult for Sergio Gonzalez's team to get the ball out from behind. An action provoked by the Basque pressure opened the scoreboard and decided the outcome of the match.

In the 24th minute, Iñaki Williams took advantage of a lapse in the defensive zone of the local team to get in front of Conan, leave him behind and shoot from an angle to make the score zero to one. Ten minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty for hands by Pacha Espino. Conan Ledesma guessed right and saved Iñaki Williams' spot kick.

With Cádiz looking to reach the rival goal with danger, the first forty-five minutes came to an end. In the 57th minute, Guruzeta, who had just entered the field, scored the second goal for Ernesto Valverde's team with a shot from the edge of the area. The Yellows, after this second goal, were looking for ways to find space on the counter against an Athletic side that showed great defensive strength.

Entering into the last quarter of an hour, Berenguer culminated a first touch triangulation in the vicinity of the Cadista small area to score the third goal that sealed the match. Already in stoppage time, Guruzeta took advantage of a rejected ball in the Cadista area to put the zero to four with which would reach the end of the duel.
