Former Cadista Jorge López was until a few weeks ago the director of the academy of FC Kryvbas in Ukraine. The beginning of the invasion by Russia forced him to make a decision: to take 22 promising young players out of the country and find them a place in Spanish teams.
It has been a tough task for the former Yellows player in 2014, which began when he left Ukraine at the end of February after being stuck at the border for many days, but the ending has been a happy one.
Two of those players have joined the Cádiz youth teams. Roman is a left-back and Bogdan plays as a midfielder. This morning they met their new team-mates. Aware of what is happening in their country and their families, this Wednesday they have started a new stage of their lives wearing the yellow jersey.
