The youth team is renamed Cádiz CF Mirandilla

The entity pays tribute to the name under which it competed between 1924 and 1936

Cádiz B will compete from next season onwards as Cádiz CF Mirandilla. The yellow youth team adopts a new name paying homage to the origins of the club, which adopted the Lasallian colours when it was born in the La Salle-Mirandilla school, and which between 1924 and 1936 competed under the name of Mirandilla FC, migrating to the current name in 1936.

The vice-president Rafael Contreras, accompanied by the sporting director of the youth team, Enrique Ortiz, and the coach, Alberto Cifuentes, made the presentation of this initiative, which will be accompanied by a change of kit. The youth team will now compete with a replica of the kit worn during Mirandilla FC's use and will sport the crest of that era.

Contreras valued the change of name to "be fair to the history, traditions and its origins", asserting that it has nothing to do with the name of the stadium "which is a competence of the Town Hall, unrelated to the club, and has nothing to do with this initiative".

Cádiz CF Mirandilla, who will compete next season in the 2nd RFEF, is for Enrique Ortiz "the pinnacle of the youth team before making the step up to the first team", highlighting that this past season "there have been several youth players who have made their debut with the youth team and several of the youth team have played with the first team in the top flight".

Coach Alberto Cifuentes valued the need to "know how to transmit the mission and the values of the youth structure, because the future lies in the training of players", recognising that the end of last season has shown that they have "the makings of a future with a new crop of players who are going to bring a lot of joy". He also assures that for his players "it will be a source of pride to carry the name of Mirandilla, which is associated with the history and the yellow and blue colours of our club".
