Sportech City was unveiled this morning in the press room of the stadium. The project, developed by the investment fund 'Gades Sport Technology' and promoted by Cádiz Club de Fútbol, was presented at an event attended by the mayoress of Puerto Real, Elena Amaya; Ricardo Gómez, from the fund management company Mar Océana; José Guerra, head of LaLiga Impulso; Rafael Contreras, vice-president and Manuel Vizcaíno, president of Cádiz Club de Fútbol.
Cádiz president spoke first. "We have thought of a way for Cádiz CF to consolidate itself among the teams considered important within LaLiga. The LaLiga Impulso project has been created to increase the progress of teams like Cádiz in the coming years and to continue consolidating the club. We are going to do this without forgetting that we are a club of ordinary people. We want to grow with industry, a project for the future, digitalisation, technology."
Ricardo Gómez, representative of the Mar Océana management company, then took the floor. "We are proud to be at this table. It is a tremendously exciting project. It is difficult to explain the real content of this project in a press conference. Mar Océana is a management company. We are financiers and what we are doing is creating a concrete project. It is a business project. An investment fund manages business projects. We want to generate value, fundamentally, through the industry linked to the world of sport and health. This project is nice because it is a beautiful example of public-private collaboration. It has been a pleasure to have a relationship with the Puerto Real City Council, which has been very visionary."
Elena Amaya, Mayoress of Puerto Real, was also present. "I can explain this project with the example of the reservoirs in our province in recent days. They were dry, desolate, not knowing what was going to happen in the summer. This water provides a solution to many problems. The industry of Puerto Real was in the same situation, so this news has been wonderful for us. This project comes from the hand of Cádiz CF to give Puerto Real a shot in the arm."
José Guerra, from LaLiga Impulso, appeared online to talk about the Impulso Plan. "The Impulso Plan is a project that seeks to give a boost to LaLiga that will allow it to advance what in other circumstances would have taken twenty years. It is based on technology, and with it innovation. It is also based on internationalisation. And, of course, on improving the infrastructures that make up our competition. The project that Cádiz CF, Puerto Real City Council and Mar Océana are presenting complies with all the lines set out by LaLiga. Above all, the project seeks to give sustainability to clubs such as Cádiz and to make the competition grow."
Rafael Contreras, vice-president of the club, made a technical presentation of the project: "We want to find in this project the connection of the club with the growth plan that is being implemented. We are looking for a strategic link with a business project that will add to the sporting project. This project will generate the need for new talent with a transformation of the industry that is taking place at a global level. This white economy is where we are heading, this value-added industry. Those of us from Cádiz like to see that the wealth that comes here are projects that allow our children to work and be part of the development. As a Cádiz local and as vice-president of Cádiz CF, this is an important moment for me."
