Paco López: “We knew how to play the game”

Cádiz CF's coach analyzed the second consecutive home win

Cádiz CF coach, Paco López, spoke to the media after the victory over Córdoba in the stadium's press room.

Balance of the match. “Victories are good for confidence and tranquility. In the last few matches the team is showing a different face in terms of results. The victory is good for the team to play with less anxiety, but we need two or three consecutive victories that really help to reinforce this confidence”.

Analysis of the match. “We started well, we have arrivals and there have been enough chances for us to take the lead in the first 15 minutes. Since the ball hit the crossbar, the team took a step back, they also pressed and had two chances that could have equalized after the 1-0. We had the job of scoring the second goal, which was a set piece. Without doing much more than Córdoba, we made it 2-0. In the second half, with the physical problems of the players, we were able to play the game at times. Even so, Cordoba also had clear chances, although we also had Carlos' chance”.

Playing away. “We always try to get the best out of the team and our approach. Analyses are made from the final result and it's complicated. We have to keep improving things”.

Improvement. “We are trying to improve the team's confidence both on and off the ball. It's a matter of continuing to focus on this daily work. Emotions play a fundamental role in the matches”.

Roger. “We are all very happy because he has had a hard time with the injury. He is starting to get into the rhythm of competition that he didn't have because of the injury and the goal is great for him. His work and what he gives to the team is essential”.

Message to the fans. “Today there was a difficult moment for the team at the end and they started to cheer. As soon as we give them we will have the fans with us. I keep insisting, coming to Cádiz as a rival when the fans are pushing is complicated and we have to work hard for that to happen and for there to be this communion between the fans and the team, and I won't stop until I get it”.
