Official statement on Cádiz-Elche

Given the seriousness of the events that occurred yesterday, January 16, 2023, in the match played by CADIZ CF SAD against ELCHE CF SAD corresponding to matchday of the First Division National League Championship (“LaLiga Santander ”) in which, as a result of an unfortunate and negligent action by the arbitration group, specifically the arbitrators of the VOR Chamber, CÁDIZ CF SAD was seriously harmed, this entity wishes to state:

1. That today, January 17, 2023, the legal services of CÁDIZ CF SAD have submitted to the competent federative authorities, a brief challenging the meeting held before ELCHE, C.F., S.A.D, by virtue of which the annulment is requested of the well-deserved match and its resumption from minute 81 of it, at which time the refereeing team validated the goal scored by the ELCHE, C.F., S.A.D. D. Ezequiel Ponce, despite being preceded by a resounding and flagrant offside, not susceptible to interpretation, as shown by the images of the match. 
2. That said request is based on what, in the opinion of this entity, cannot be called a mere human error, but a serious and manifest technical arbitration error, motivated by the negligent and non-excusable action of the arbitrators of the VOR Chamber designated by the RFEF who, in the opinion of this Entity, not only breached the applicable Laws of the Game, but also disregarded the current regulations regarding the principles and procedures regulated in the VAR Protocol.
3. That, as it can be deduced from the images of the match itself, and even from the acts that have taken place since then, some coming from groups dependent on the RFEF itself, there is no doubt that the refereeing team made a manifest material error, serious , inexcusable and not justifiable, from which irreparable damage is derived for CÁDIZ, C.F., S.A.D.
4. That, for this reason and without prejudice to the foregoing, out of respect for this Entity, its history, its fans and workers, as well as the players and coaches that make up the Entity's first team, who fight with effort and dedication for achieving a common sporting objective, despite the obstacles that are presented to them - already, with some frequency - CÁDIZ, C.F. He states that he will not remain immobile in the face of the sports injustice that occurred yesterday.
5. Quite the contrary, if necessary at the end of the season, depending on the sporting and economic damages that may be inferred from the final classification of CÁDIZ, C.F., S.A.D. In the First Division category, this Entity will evaluate the exercise of as many legal actions that assist it in Law, including the action of patrimonial responsibility against the persons, physical or legal, that in the last instance must respond for the damages and losses caused to CÁDIZ , C.F., S.A.D.
