Iván Alejo: "Barcelona is the best rival to turn the situation around"

The Cadista winger appeared before the media at the stadium.

Cádiz Club de Fútbol player, Iván Alejo, spoke to the media in the press room after the team's training session at the stadium: "The situation has not helped us to find the best version of ourselves, but behind closed doors we are convinced of what we have to do. The best match to do so is Saturday's game. We have shown that we are capable of beating Barcelona".

Next rival: "Barcelona is the best rival to turn the situation around. We are capable of beating any opponent, as we proved last year. It looks like there are only two teams left to be relegated, and far from it. It is not the desired start, but I think that if anyone has been able to turn this around, it was us in the second half of last year. I ask people to trust us. We have to work harder, now there is little to talk about and a lot to work on. We are not at our best level, but now everything can only get better. I am sure that from Saturday onwards the image will be different".

Type of match: "When you play against Barcelona you know that they will usually have the ball. People are very focused. We know they are a team that has a lot to do, but last year at the Camp Nou we had, in addition to winning, two or three very clear chances. I'm sure that the approach will be good enough for us to score".

Confidence: "I can understand people's tension, but we deserve a vote of confidence from the players, the coaching staff and the president. It is not a good taste to see the team on match day 4 with zero points, but we are the ones who are hurting the most. I ask for a vote of confidence, that during the 90 minutes they give us all their support, as they always do. I am totally convinced that we are going to give a good image".

Team's state of mind: "Many times in soccer, things that happen are unpredictable. I think everything has come together, like injuries. We are not at 100%, we lack that point of confidence. Perhaps the rumbling that has been going on has affected us, even if we don't want to see it, and above all the results. When you start with defeats, your mood unconsciously drops, but we are professional enough to know that it can't affect us that much".

Internal competition: "I'm calm with the arrival of Théo and Brian. I know that if I do my best I can count on the coach's trust, but we have five wingers for two positions".
