Cadiz CF played matchday 28 of LALIGA EA SPORTS against Atletico Madrid at home, lining up with: Conan Ledesma; Iza, Aiham Ousou, Víctor Chust, Javi Hernández; Robert Navarro, Kouamé, Rubén Alcaraz, Sobrino; Juanmi, and Maxi Gómez. Notable was the debut of Aiham Ousou, the first Syrian player to debut in the history of La Liga.
Before kick-off, Antonia Fuentes and Maripaz Parra, two of the oldest club members, performed the honorary kick-off in tribute to #8M and the love they have given to Cadiz CF throughout their lives.
The match started evenly in the first few minutes with many disputes and few spaces. Cadiz CF tried with a couple of crosses from the right that were close to finding a header.
It was from the left, however, when in the 23rd minute, Sobrino provided a precise cross to the head of Juanmi, who scored easily to make it 1-0. With Cadiz controlling the game and nothing else noteworthy, the first half ended.
The second half began with a triple change for Atletico: Riquelme, Correa, and Molina came on for De Paul, Memphis, and Saúl. With Atletico more determined towards Conan's goal, the Cadiz team solidly contained the visitors' attacks.
In the 64th minute, a long clearance from Conan Ledesma directly found Juanmi after a clearance error from Witsel. The Malaga forward controlled the ball and beat Oblak to make it 2-0. In the 67th minute, there was a triple change: Samassékou, Álex, and Chris Ramos came on for Kouamé, Juanmi, and Maxi Gómez.
In the 72nd minute, Conan Ledesma had to make a fantastic save to deny Atletico's goal from Marcos Llorente. Minutes later, Chris Ramos had a header saved by the visiting defense.
In the 86th minute, Alejo came on for Sobrino. Previously, Lucas Pires replaced Javi Hernández.
Cadiz CF held on to the lead in the final stages, securing an outstanding victory.
