Cádiz CF is one of 12 clubs participating in PlayChampions LaLiga, which is being held these months in Italy for the benefit of low-income families. The project, made up of three groups of four teams divided by categories, is taking place in the center of Milan over seven Sundays, concluding on May 6.
RCD Espanyol, Valencia CF, Granada CF and Sevilla FC are participating in the 7 and 8 age group; Real Sociedad, Deportivo Alavés, Granada CF and Levante UD are in the 9 to 10 age group; and Cádiz CF is leading its 11 to 13 age group, where it plays its matches against SD Ponferradina, CD Fuenlabrada and Deportivo Alavés.
So far, once the first four matchdays have been played, the yellow team is the leader of its group with seven points out of a possible 12 after beating CF Fuenlabrada and SD Ponferradina, drawing against CF Fuenlabrada and losing against Deportivo Alavés. The next round of matches, to be held on March 19, will pit the Cadistas against SD Ponferradina.
The tournament is organized by the Italian NGO 'PlayMore!', which promotes activities aimed, especially, at people in fragile situations such as sports with disabilities, migrants, low-income families and anyone who wants to play sports.
