1-0 | A goal from Sobrino brings Cádiz closer to survival

Cádiz achieves three gold points after a hard-fought victory against Celta de Vigo

Sunday afternoon began in the best way. A historic and unforgettable reception for all the cadistas energized the team, which, aware of what was at stake, started the game by printing maximum intensity on each ball. Celta, for their part, waited in their field hoping to surprise the Cadista team in a counter.

Carles Pérez was the first to strike, attacking Conan Ledesma's goal after a great diagonal down the right wing. Later it was Cádiz who sought to surprise Iván Villar, with a lateral cross from Luis Hernández and a subsequent strike from Rubén Alcaraz who went wide. Bongonda, a real pain in the ass for the Galician defense, was also close to opening the scoring after finishing off a great volley from Pacha's cross.

A few minutes from the end of the first half, De Burgos Bengoechea whistled a penalty in favor of the yellow team, which later, and with the help of VAR, was going to annul. There was no luck either in minute 41, when Choco Lozano finished off a great play by Iza. But after review, the referee marked offside.

Far from collapsing due to these actions, Cádiz Club de Fútbol continued trying, finding the prize eight minutes into the second half. A futsal action by Escalante on the edge of the area left Sobrino alone against Villar, crossing the ball into the back of the net and unleashing madness in the stands. A goal that brought victory closer and, therefore, permanence for the Cádiz Club de Fútbol.

The pressure from the visiting team increased once Iago Aspas entered the field, subjecting the yellow team to drain water in the area. After an end of the game with very meritorious interventions by Conan Ledesma, the referee whistled the end of the game. Nuevo Mirandilla was bursting with happiness with a Cádiz that is one step closer to continuing next season in the highest category of Spanish football.
