Cadiz returned empty handed from their visit to Elche. Javier Ontiveros' goal was neutralized in the final moments by Josan, first, and Yago Santiago, in stoppage time, for Elche, who took advantage of the numerical superiority due to the expulsion of Brian Ocampo.

Cádiz CF started the match very well, aware of the importance of not allowing the local team to triangulate and dominate, as they usually do, the possession of the ball in the opponent's field.

Thus, the forward pressure of Paco Lopez's team soon paid off. Javier Ontiveros took advantage of a defensive mistake by the franjiverde team to put the yellow team ahead with a shot inside the area.

It was not until midway through the first half that David Gil played a key role in the match. The goalkeeper from Madrid saved a local shot in two times and, shortly after, Roger would respond with a second goal after an exceptional pass from Álex Fernández.

The next Cadista chance came from a set piece. Carlos Fernandez tried his luck from a corner position to try to double the Cadista lead with a powerful shot.

With a quarter of an hour left in the first half, Roger Martí picked up the ball in the center of the field and, after dribbling the defender who came his way, he planted himself on the edge of the area, from where he armed his leg. His shot, placed, went grazing the top of the local post and Ontiveros, just after, and in another defensive error of Elche, had the 0-2. Dituro, in this case, was right to stop the ball.

After the restart, the match became more complicated for the yellow team after 10 minutes into the second half, when Brian Ocampo slipped up and received his second yellow card, leaving Paco López's team with a numerical disadvantage.

With ten players, the match became a constant attack by Elche against a Cadiz that defended against the local attacks. David Gil, focused throughout the match, prevented the equalizer with three fundamental interventions.

However, with ten minutes left on the clock, a Salinas cross from the left flank was finished off at the far post by Josan to make it 1-1, sending the Martínez Valero into a frenzy.

In stoppage time, Yago Santiago, also at the far post, took advantage of a cross into the box to certify the comeback and turn the score around.
