Sergio González's men took to the field against Girona and were soon rewarded when, in the sixth minute, Escalante took advantage of a ball that fell in the area after a great personal move by Brian Ocampo to score a goal. With this goal, the Yellows would not take their foot off the accelerator and would continue to press against the Girona goal.
Minutes later, the Cadistas would star in a series of shots that would not find a finisher. Iza from outside the area and Sergi inside the visiting area came close to the second goal. After half an hour, Sergi Guardiola grabbed a good ball into space from the feet of Théo Bongonda to cross the leather and put the two to zero on the scoreboard.
