Sevilla warned from the beginning with a great cross shot from En-Nesyri that went off the field licking the post. From then on, the Cadistas were getting used to the game, taking positions, and gradually pushing away Sevilla's chances. On the quarter of an hour, a long shot from Arzamendia that went narrowly wide served to equalize the protagonism on the green. The Paraguayan, who was very incisive, did not think twice to look for the goal from afar.

As the minutes went by, the Cadistas felt comfortable defending the onslaught of the locals and reaching the opponent's area with increasing danger. Perea and Pombo, on the verge of the half hour, stepped on the area defended by Bono with shots that the Sevillian goalkeeper himself was in charge of deflecting. Sevilla also responded to these arrivals, living a period of back and forth until the end of the first half.

After Álvaro Giménez came close to scoring the first in the last breath of the first half, the referee signaled the way to the locker room, from where Lopetegui's team returned with more drive. Rakitic, who had just joined the team, had several very dangerous chances from outside the box.

On the hour mark, a Cadista counter-attack resulted in one of the best chances for Sergio González's team. On a pass from Mady Diarra, Jorge Pombo shot from the heart of the area, but a defender's leg appeared to repel the shot. Minutes later, in the 68th minute, Sevilla found the net when Delaney appeared in the area to send a cross from Óliver Torres into the back of the net.

The Cadista team reacted well to the goal. After adapting to the new scenario with the carousel of changes characteristic of the preseason, the yellow team gained weight by projecting itself in attack on the goal that at this moment was already defended by Dmitrovic. Choco Lozano had several chances to equalize with his head, but his attempts ended in a goal kick.

The final score was one-nil and Sevilla FC was proclaimed champion of the XI Antonio Puerta Trophy.
