VARAZDAT HAROYAN IS CÁDIZ’S FIRST SIGNING FOR NEXT SEASON

The central defender, who is the captain of Armenia, arrives at the club from FC Astana

Cádiz CF and Kazakh club FC Astana have reached an agreement over the transfer of Varazdat Haroyan, who moves to the Estadio Ramón de Carranza on a deal running until 2023.

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, on 24 August 1992, Haroyan plays as a central defender and has won 58 caps for the Armenian national team. He began his career at Patani FC, before joining FC Pyunik Yerevan, a club where he won six domestic trophies. After briefly signing for Iranians Tractor SC, he moved to Padideh FC, also in Iran, then departed for Russia to join FC Ural Yekaterinburg. A spell at fellow Russian club FC Tambov followed, before a switch to FC Astana.

Having made his international debut in 2011, Haroyan is now captain of the Armenia team, which is currently coached by the Spaniard Joaquín Caparrós.
