TOMÁS ALARCÓN BECOMES CÁDIZ’S SECOND SUMMER SIGNING

The defensive midfielder joins on a four-year contract from Chilean club O’Higgins

Cádiz Club de Fútbol and Club Deportivo O’Higgins have reached an agreement over the transfer of the player Tomás Alarcón Vergara, who operates as a defensive midfielder and is a Chile international.

Born in Rancagua, Chile, on 19 January 1999, Alarcón made his Chilean Primera División debut for O’Higgins in 2016, his performances subsequently earning him an international debut in 2019, in a match against Argentina.

He made 85 top-flight appearances for O’Higgins, scoring eight goals. Earlier this month, he was part of the Chile squad for La Roja’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Bolivia.

Alarcón moves to Cádiz on a four-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months. He is expected to report for pre-season following the conclusion of the 2021 Copa América.
