PERERA: WE WERE PRETTY COMPETITIVE

The assistant coach was in charge for the game against Osasuna and gave his analysis after the final whistle

Roberto Perera, assistant coach at Cádiz CF, spoke to the press after the match against Osasuna, standing in for head coach Álvaro Cervera.
Perera said, “we were as good as Osasuna for much of the match and we were pretty competitive.” He added, “this is the Primera División and two mistakes from us cost us. Keeping a clean sheet at this level is a lot tougher.”
The assistant coach continued, “Osasuna are strong through the middle and we’d talked about that, but the first time they nicked the ball, they scored.” He carried on, “we made as many chances as they did, but Adrián and Rubén García took theirs. It was an even game decided by [the side that] took their chances.”
The coach from the Canary Islands highlighted that, “in the Primera you give away two goals and you’ll struggle to score, no doubt about it. We’re left with the feeling the game was pretty even and Osasuna won it by getting the small details right.”
Perera also had words for the Cádiz fans: “It’s a shame. We all know what the Carranza could have been like tonight after so long without Primera football and it’s a shame because the fans deserved to enjoy this moment, but football and the entire world are how they are and we need to keep going”.
