The re-seeding process of the Estadio Carranza pitch is now completed with the ground boasting new grass ahead of the winter. The new pitch featuring 'ray-grass' will be used for the first time on 22 November for the home game against Real Sociedad (16:15 CET kick-off). The playing surface is expected to be in an optimum condition ahead of the LaLiga matchday 10 clash.
All top flight grounds undergo this process in modifying the playing surface to deal with a change in temperature, with another similar resurfacing procedure carried out in springtime when the air temperature experiences an increase.
The grass pitches at the Ciudad Deportiva have also undergone a similar process of re-seeding and will offer improved playing conditions.
