London-Based Cadiz Fan Adds the club crest at LaLiga's United Kingdom office

Cádiz native Guillermo Lázaro was chosen to add the club badge in a symbolic ceremony which proves that passion for LaLiga transcends borders.

To commemorate Cádiz CF, SD Huesca and Elche CF securing promotion to Spanish football's top flight, a few days ago LaLiga invited a supporter from each club to their offices in London. In a symbolic event, the three fans added their respective club crests to the panel displaying all the teams that will participate in the 2020/21 LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank competitions.

Guillermo Lázaro, who has been a Cádiz fan since he first saw the side play when he was seven-years-old, was chosen to add the club badge. Lázaro took the opportunity to pay tribute to legendary television commentator and former player Michael Robinson, who passed away earlier this year after a long battle with cancer: "Michael Robinson was a very important figure for Cádiz", said Lázaro. "I hope he's looking down on us and enjoying having Cádiz back in the top flight again".

LaLiga's head of international development for UK and Ireland, Keegan Pierce said: "Fans are the very soul of LaLiga and a key aspect of our international strategy is to maintain strong links with supporters all around the world. We're pleased to welcome Diego, Guillermo and Rosa to our London office as we officially celebrate the arrival of SD Huesca, Cádiz CF and Elche CF to LaLiga Santander".

Head of LaLiga's global network for UK & Ireland, Javier del Río added: "We're delighted with the start of the new season and what better way to celebrate it than here in our London office with supporters from the three recently-promoted sides. We're really looking forward to what we hope will be a hugely exciting season ahead".
