JULIA LAGO PLEASED TO GET OFF THE MARK IN PRIMERA NACIONAL

The attacking midfielder discussed Cádiz CF Femenino’s draw with La Rambla on Saturday

Attacking midfielder Julia Lago spoke to the club’s in-house media team after Cádiz CF Femenino’s 2-2 draw with La Rambla. “We played well,” she said. “We lacked that spark that you need but we just have to look forward now. A draw isn’t a bad result.”

Saturday’s match saw Lago get on the scoresheet for the very first time in Primera Nacional, the third tier of women’s league football in Spain, and she said: “It’s my first goal at this level, in this division, and hopefully it’ll be the first of many.”

Asked about her ability to play in several positions, she replied: “Emilio [Soler, the team’s head coach] shows a lot of confidence in me; I’m lucky in that regard, and I want to repay that faith. I like to play in midfield, but I’m happy wherever Emilio plays me. That’s a decision that’s down to him.”
