Juan Cala spoke to the club’s official media after the 0-0 draw against Villarreal on Sunday. “In summary it was a positive result. There are a lot of positives to take from the game, such as keeping a clean sheet against a side set up to challenge for the top four. It’s a good point for us. Now we have to carry on, we’re away at Eibar next, which will be a tough game. We have to keep on fighting, there’s no other choice.”
Analysing the game, Cala singled out the side’s qualities at the back: “The whole defensive system worked well. We lacked a bit of patience after winning the ball, we could have been better with the first pass, but they played well too. They didn’t allow us space to run. I think it was a fair result.”
“I don’t remember Villarreal having many clear chances,” Cala said of Cádiz’s ability to break up the visitors’ attacks. “They have a strong forward line that we are all aware of. We have to improve in every aspect but the team is playing with this system to stay up and that’s what we’re fighting for.”
