Midfielder, and Cádiz club captain, José Mari, spoke to the media pitch side at Granada's Estadio Nuevo los Carmenes.
The player said his side had secured “three golden points", adding, "the team played really well as we all knew that this was a crucial game and we were aware of the task at hand. We showed today just what we can do and that we are a side worthy of the top flight".
The player was unable to hide his delight: “I'm really so happy. One can look back and see many things, so much hard work that we've all contributed to. Our fans should be so proud of their team”.
He concluded stating: “It's been a spectacular campaign and I'm sure one that will go down in history. We've been criticised unjustly over the season so this win is dedicated to our detractors. Through hard work and by keeping our feet on the ground, we've managed to keep the club in the top flight and this feat is also something for our fans and families to enjoy”.
