Cádiz CF’s Jairo Izquierdo offered his thoughts on Wednesday’s defeat to Real Madrid CF, commenting: “In the opening minutes, we felt comfortable and even got ourselves into the odd dangerous position in and around their penalty area.”
He continued: “We managed to pose a threat. They didn’t have a shot on target until the penalty. It was one of those strange incidents that sometimes happen in football, and after that their second goal killed the game off.”
Jairo concluded: “We tried to push up the pitch, put them under pressure and stop them from feeling too comfortable; we wanted to work hard for each other and stand ourselves in decent stead for Saturday’s game.”
