Cádiz Football Club, through its foundation, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the well deserving groups of volunteers from the various institutions that have been working to support the community during these challenging times of confinement. The event took place on Thursday 3 December.
Manuel Vizcaíno, president of Cádiz CF, was present and participated in the event along with José Mata and Martín José García, president of the CCF Foundation.
José Mata, assistant to the president and manager of the CCF Foundation, opened up the event by stressing the importance of the volunteer corps in society, saying that “after making numerous tributes to other groups, it is now their turn to be recognised, as they are always on society’s side.”
Manuel Vizcaíno, José Mata and Martín José García individually handed out the framed certificates in recognition and in honour of the work being done by the volunteer group from each institution. The following were represented: Banco de Alimentos, Calor en la Noche, Cáritas, Cruz Roja, Madre Coraje, Protección Civil, Plataforma de Voluntariado (which includes the rest of the volunteers from other associations), and also the volunteers of Cadiz CF.
The club president then closed the event by offering affectionate words of thanks to those present. “We are a club of the ordinary man and woman in the street, and you are the ones who put us in touch with them. You all do a fantastic job of helping and bringing people together.” Before finishing he added: “We want to continue to receive your proposals on how to turn the current situation around, as now we are Primera División club this has to be shown in the way we help.”
