Cádiz CF manager Álvaro Cervera attended to the media in the press room after overseeing his side’s 3-1 victory against Alavés. “It was an even game and one in which the opposition created little danger,” Cervera said. “We went ahead and they equalized quickly but after the sending off we played well and the goals came.”
The Cádiz boss added: “We are now on 23 points and practically no-one thought we would reach that total before the halfway stage of the competition.”
Although he was happy with the result, Cervera warned that Cádiz still have a long way to go. “We’ve reached this point with a certain level of satisfaction but I’m concerned about what lies ahead.”
Cervera also noted that forward Choco Lozano is still getting back to his best after recovering from covid-19. “Choco has been finding his form and you can see he is much quicker. We would like to get closer to the opposition goal to take advantage of how lethal he and Negredo are in the area.”
