Cádiz CF head coach Álvaro Cervera spoke to the press at the end of the last game of the season against Levante UD staged at the Ciudad de Valencia stadium.
The coach offered his thoughts post-game after the draw stating: “I'm responsible for the manner in which we played but I want to see something different, securing the same amount of points but in a different way. I don't want to play as if we're facing Real Madrid away and want more”. He added: “we need to do something to improve, as we saw tonight that for much of the second half it was a case of clinging on to what we had”.
Cervera referenced Bastida making his debut and added: “we want to be fair with all players and sometimes that is difficult. We want to create a sensation where youth players feel there is someone looking out for their interests”.
On Augusto playing his last game before retiring, Cervera stated: “We should be grateful for the time he's been with us and for the way he's enhanced the game of football”.
Looking back at the game, the coach observed: “in the second half we barely troubled them and my feeling is that we could have offered more. That's what I'll be looking for next season”. He concluded in the same vein stating: “we can get there through hard work and everyone pulling in the same direction. If we all feel that the way we survived this season will be repeated next year then we need to think again as what happened during this campaign is unlikely to be repeated”.
