Cervera: "The team fought hard"

Cádiz coach analysed the defeat against Sevilla FC.

Álvaro Cervera appeared in the press room at the end of the match against Sevilla FC to take stock of the defeat. "When the result is not against us, when we are drawing or winning, we are a recognisable team. When the game goes against us, we're a team that allows a lot. Until their goal, they didn't score because that's what we do. But then we don't really do any damage and we don't really look dangerous. We make more mistakes with the ball than we do with it. When our opponents take the lead, our shortcomings are much more obvious. There is a big difference between two teams in the same category."

Team assessment. "The reading is that we fought, we gave our all, but in football that's not enough. There is talent, skill and experience. When we perform as a team we are not bad, but when things go against us and we have to play individually there are a lot of shortcomings."

Tasks to handle. "The main problem with this team is that they defend more or less well, but when we get the ball back we really take it away from them. We don't have clarity on the bal."

Reality. "We can look for positives. The team fought hard, but the fact is that we've got the points we've got. Something has to be done. We are trying, we are training well. But we have a reality and the reality has to be changed somehow. The points we've lost in the last few minutes are due to the high level of LaLiga Santander. Today we are not doing as many things right as we are doing things wrong."
