CERVERA: “OUR OPPONENT LEFT THE GAME OPEN AND WE MANAGED TO SECURE THE DRAW”

The Cádiz head coach focused on the positive side of the team performance as his side secured an invaluable point at the José Zorrilla stadium

Cádiz CF head coach Álvaro Cervera spoke to media outlets at the end of the LaLiga clash at the Estadio José Zorilla. The manager highlighted the fact that: “Valladolid lacked a degree of luck in converting the chances they created and as a result left the game open. We all know that this Cádiz team can draw level or indeed win in these circumstances and that's what we ultimately saw”.

He was also critical in certain aspects of the match observing: “I saw some negative areas of our play today and that will help me in making decisions”.

The coach was far from happy with the opening phase stating: “I would like to establish why we started so poorly as we were so slow to get going, it may be that the team were not used to playing together”. He did praise today's rival stating: “it should be said though that Valladolid played well. We all need to take things away from today's game, not just the coaching staff but the players too. Sometimes, football is more than just knocking the ball around and trying to play well”.

He concluded claiming: “we now need to see how the rest of the results transpire and see how valuable today's point proves”.
