A commemorative stamp celebrating 110 years of Cádiz CF was unveiled today during a moving, small-scale event at the Colegio Salle Mirandilla, attended by representatives of the local Philatelic Society and the Spanish Maximaphily Association. The groups were represented by Francisco Velázquez and Juan Antonio respectively. CCF were represented by the manager of the Foundation José Mata, along with Director of the college Priscila Boubete.
The setting for the presentation of the 110th anniversary stamp was hugely symbolic, with it being the very place where the football club was founded in 1910.
The creative process for the stamp was drawn up by the football club and the philatelic groups.
The subtle design details were explained by the philatelic experts: “We wanted to reflect tradition and combine that with elements of the club's recent past. The stamp's postage value means it can be used for all standard deliveries throughout Spain and it has been an enormous pleasure to be able to assist Cádiz CF".
The experts noted the stamp “is postmarked with the date of club’s foundation and in line with the colours”.
During the event CCF Foundation manager José Mata presented members from both the philatelic groups and the college with a club memento.
José Mata closed the event by expressing his appreciation for "the participation and efforts”, of the Philatelic Society and for attending the event at such a special venue, the place "where Cádiz CF was founded". He added, “the colours the team wears today are the original colours of Mirandilla college and we’re grateful that we’re here today thanks to them”.
Priscila Boubeta also thanked the club “for the relationship we have”, and looked forward to future collaborations.
