Juan Cala was one of the Cádiz players selected to speak to the media after the away win in Granada. The Sevilla-born defender was enthused: “We've achieved our objective”.
Cala added: “Since the beginning of the season, we've been fighting to secure top flight status and feel that we deserve to end the campaign with relative tranquility; that applies to all our supporters too”. He continued: “Now that the team is virtually safe, we need to turn our sights to finishing as high in the table as we can”.
He concluded observing: “it would be great to enter the Cádiz history books by securing the highest points tally in LaLiga. Now is time to enjoy this feat and recognise that what we achieved was done with flying colours and it's a shame that our fans can't go out and celebrate. We all deserve to be in the top flight, the supporters and the team”.
