CALA OPENS HIS GOAL ACCOUNT

The home league game against Levante saw Cala notch up his first goal.

Juan Cala scored the second goal for Cádiz, the one that ended up securing the draw. After the game the centre-back from the Seville region stated that “we took a very early lead but they were quick to pull it back," adding, "they were superior to us in some parts of the game.” Cala also felt that Levante "were on top at 1-2 but a corner helped us level things up. It was more even in the second half, but in terms of position on the pitch and their moves they created more danger while we didn’t create much.

“Neither side had many clear chances," he continued. "We now need less than half the required points to stay up. We’ll take it one game at a time, but it’s now going to be even more difficult.

“They created plenty of danger with Morales in the middle and the forwards targeting our centre-backs,” Cala highlighted. “They were better in the middle of the park. We were able to create chances on the counter, which led to the first goal coming from a mistake.” And he was positive about Levante saying that they were “a team that creates a lot, one that is very well drilled. It’s tough to score against these teams. We’ll take the point. We have a duty to pick up more points at the Carranza and we have to keep going.”

And regarding his first goal of the season: "I'm happy to have got my first goal of the season. I scored to level it up for the draw. Hopefully many more goals will come to help the team.”
