Through its foundation, the Fundación CCF, Cádiz Club de Fútbol has put pen to paper on a partnership agreement with the Real Sociedad de Carreras de Caballos de Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Royal Horse-Racing Society of Sanlúcar de Barrameda). Held on Thursday, the signing ceremony took place in an incomparable setting: the Sanlúcar winery run by the winemakers Barbadillo.

Esther Gútierrez, the head of marketing and communications at Barbadillo, which is one of Cádiz CF’s sponsors, hosted the event. She spoke of her pride at the company’s headquarters being the venue for an occasion that brought together such a historic trio of names as the Real Sociedad de Carreras de Caballos, Cádiz CF and Barbadillo - all organisations that are over a century old.

Underlining the body’s “commitment to collaboration”, the Sociedad de Carreras’ president, Rafael Hidalgo, expressed his delight at partnering with Cádiz CF. The society “stands alongside Cádiz CF”, he said, as part of its dedication to maintaining a strong presence across the sporting world. Speaking in the same vein, he continued: “This agreement allows us to enrich our expertise and we hope this partnership will prove beneficial to all parties.”

José Mata, the director of the Fundación CCF and vice-president of Cádiz CF, highlighted the “important bond that we have established with the Sociedad de Carreras - it serves as a link between the cities of Sanlúcar and Cádiz”. He also noted: “We are two organisations with long and rich histories, and are both standard bearers for going after your goals and making them happen.”

Meanwhile, Mata also stressed: “Sanlúcar means a lot to our club and I’m sure this agreement will be a long-lasting and successful project, just as the horse races organised by the Sociedad de Carreras have proved to be. They are much admired and are a source of real pride for us all.”

Cádiz CF was well represented at the signing ceremony, as it was also attended by the ‘Los Arcos’ and ‘Rafael Puerta’ supporters’ clubs, both of which are based in Sanlúcar and travel extensively to watch the team, in addition to organising a wide range of activities relating to Los Amarillos. A sporting representative of the club was also present in Barbadillo's impressive events hall, in the shape of Sanlúcar-born Ana Pacheco, who plays for CCF Femenino, Cadíz CF’s women’s team.
