CÁDIZ CF AND ITS FOUNDATION CELEBRATE WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY

As part of the important annual event, which is held on 20 November, the Fundación CCF has produced a video in support of children’s rights

The Fundación Cádiz CF has joined in the activities held around the globe as part of World Children’s Day - which is celebrated today, 20 November - by putting together a video featuring a range of people who highlight the importance of education, respect and support for youngsters, particularly the most under-privileged.

The Fundación CCF initiative was carried out in collaboration with Educo; the Cádiz City Council Department of Social Development; the Cádiz Provincial Council; and the pupils of the La Ardila primary school in San Fernando, who were the undoubted stars of the video.

Fernando Rodríguez, Educo’s regional representative for Andalusia, said: “It’s an important day for children, as it has played a role in improving their well-being. However, there’s still so much to do and at Educo we work to make children’s rights a reality.”

Daniel Moreno of the Department of Social Development stressed “the importance of working for children’s development”, adding: “This is proving a difficult year, but kids are showing themselves to be an example to follow and hopefully next year we can celebrate the day all together.”

Wearing the Cádiz CF shirt, La Ardila’s students read every point of the Declaration of the Rights of a Child with determination and enthusiasm.

Martín José García, the president of the Fundación CCF, said: “There are many organisations that work to raise awareness in society about the need to continue fighting day in, day out to protect children’s rights. At our foundation, one of our chief aims is to support these associations, by encouraging and signing up to partnerships. These are difficult times and we must redouble our efforts.”

Irene Macías, the president of the Cádiz Provincial Council, also underlined the significance of “standing up for the rights [of children]”. She continued: “Unlike other years, on this occasion we couldn’t all come together in the main chamber at the seat of the Provincial Council, but we were eager to recognise Children’s Day and were delighted to contribute to the video proposed by the Fundación CCF.”
