CÁDIZ ARTISTRY: ÁNGEL LEÓN ON LATEST MATCH POSTER

The club highlights the importance of the region’s gastronomy in its official match poster

Cádiz CF has announced the latest edition of their 'Cádiz de arte' (Cádiz Artistry) campaign in which the club aims to use its official matchday publicity to highlight and pay tribute to the rich cultural traditions of the region.

For matchday 19, when Los Amarillos welcome Levante, the image of Ángel León, who hails from the town of Jerez de la Frontera, is front and centre. León is one of the most prominent figures on the national and international gastronomy scene. He is known as ‘El Chef del Mar’ (Chef of the Sea) thanks to the significant importance he places on seafood. Cádiz's cuisine is famous for its rich variety of ingredients and methods of preparation, with the region being able to boast eight denominations of origin.

Cádiz CF is immensely proud of the artistic heritage of the area and, once again, is using this initiative to recognise those who have contributed. Since the home debut this season, when attention was focused on the figure of entertainer Lola Flores, also from Jerez de la Frontera, we have seen Chipiona-born singer Rocío Jurado (matchday three); Algeciras’ flamenco musician Paco de Lucía (matchday five); poet Rafael Alberti, from El Puerto de Santa María (matchday seven); Manuel de Falla (matchday 10); Manolo Sanlúcar (matchday 12); Juan Luis Galiardo (matchday 14); Alejandro Sanz (matchday 16), and most recently Álvaro Morte on matchday 18.
