CÁDIZ ARTISTRY: ÁLVARO MORTE ON THIS WEEKEND’S MATCH POSTER

The club continues to use its official match posters to highlight the rich artistic heritage of its city and surrounding region

Cádiz CF has released the latest instalment in its ongoing match-poster campaign ‘Cádiz de arte’ (‘Cádiz Artistry’), in which the club’s goal is to use its official matchday publicity to highlight and pay tribute to the region’s rich cultural tradition.

On the poster for Cádiz’s matchday-18 encounter with Deportivo Alavés, it is Álvaro Morte, who hails from Algeciras in the province of Cádiz, who takes centre-stage. Álvaro Morte is one of the most renowned actors currently working on Spanish television and in recent years has become internationally famous thanks to his role as ‘El Profesor’ in the series ‘Money Heist’ (La Casa de Papel).

Cádiz CF is hugely proud of its region’s artistic heritage and once more seeks to make this pride known, as part of an initiative which so far this season has also seen match posters dedicated to: singer, actor and dancer Lola Flores, a native of Jerez de la Frontera, for the season opener; Chipiona-born singer Rocío Jurado (matchday three); Algeciras’ flamenco musician Paco de Lucía (matchday five); poet Rafael Alberti, who hailed from El Puerto de Santa María (matchday seven); Manuel de Falla (matchday 10); Manolo Sanlúcar (matchday 12); Juan Luis Galiardo (matchday 14); and Alejandro Sanz (matchday 16).
