CA Osasuna coach Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media after his side’s clash with Cádiz CF at the Ramón Carranza, which saw Los Rojillos win 2-0.
“Getting off to a start like this gives you a lot of confidence,” Arrasate said, noting that this victory - earned in the wake of losing Darko Brasanac and Chimy Ávila to injury - “will stand us in good stead as a group, underlining the importance of the collective over individual players.”
“Our opponents really put us under quite a bit of pressure and I didn’t like that,” he added, but acknowledged: “Having come through the game and won the three points you naturally come away with a slightly more positive assessment of that.”
Asked about the fans' absence from stadiums amid the coronavirus pandemic, Arrasate said: “We feed off our connection with the crowd to try and put on an electric brand of football for them, but right now we can’t do that.”
The Osasuna boss also had words of praise for Rubén García, who scored the visitors' second goal. "He's a smart player and you saw that in the way he carved out the space he needed to shoot and find the net," he said.
