Álex Martín, one of Cádiz’s signings in the winter transfer window, played his first minutes in the first team shirt after turning out recently for the reserve team in Segunda B.

The former Cartagena CF player said: “The team tried right up to the end but it wasn’t to be. It’s time to think about next week.”

Martín also admitted that in the space of just a few days he had seen “a dream come true. I’m grateful to Cervera and Perera. I’m dedicating this to my grandfather, who’s in heaven looking down on me. This is a dream for me.” He added: “Cervera’s told me to give it everything, to fight and for me to be myself. I try to work hard every day in training so I get opportunities like this one. This is a dream come true.”
