A victory for Cádiz, who have now gone eight consecutive matches without defeat, against a bottom team that sold their skin in a match in which they scored their two goals from the penalty spot. Mario Climent, Álex Fernández, Chris Ramos, José Antonio de la Rosa and Gonzalo Escalante were the scorers for the Yellows, who now have 34 points.

Cádiz started determined to go for the match with, above all, Ontiveros, who put the team on his back and capitalized on Gaizka Garitano's team's offensive plays. After five minutes, a cross from the Marbella-born player was almost hit by De la Rosa inside the area.

Shortly after, after eleven minutes of play, the first Cadista goal arrived. A rehearsed move from a corner kick ended with a shot by Mario Climent inside the area. His shot ended up in the net and the Alicante-born player celebrated his third goal in five games in professional soccer.

With barely a quarter of an hour gone, Ontiveros looked for his goal as he cut inside the area and shot at the corner of the long post, but the ball went narrowly wide of Pablo Campos' goal.

On the half hour mark, Álex Fernández picked up a loose ball at the edge of the area to double the Cadiz lead with a volley that Pablo Campos could do nothing about.

Despite the result, Cadiz still wanted more and, before the 40th minute was reached, a spectacular cross by Javier Ontiveros from a set piece was finished off by Chris Ramos to make it 3-0.

In the final moments of the first half, however, the away team reduced the deficit by converting a penalty by Fali, which Andy took advantage of to make it 3-1.

After the restart, a new penalty, this time committed by Victor Chust, was again used by Andy to make it 3-2 and leave the goal difference between the two teams in a single goal.

With a quarter of an hour to go, Cádiz had a clear chance when Javier Ontiveros almost found the top corner with a shot from the edge of the area.

However, just after that, a defensive error by the visitors was penalized by Cádiz, who stole through De la Rosa for Ontiveros to organize the counter-attack before giving it back to the Huelva attacker to make it 4-2. In stoppage time, a ball controlled by Óscar Melendo inside the area was the prelude to the final 5-2, scored by Gonzalo Escalante with a shot into an empty net.
