Cádiz CF Femenino recorded a superb win over Sporting Huelva B, in a game that saw Cádiz facing an uphill battle when Sporting scored in the final minutes of the first half. But the amarillas knew how to cope with the challenge and turned the game around with intense, quality football as the second half drew to a close.
In the first half, the two sides collided like two juggernauts as they both went in search for a goal, although both struggled to create many chances. It was Sporting’s Lucía who made the most of a free kick in the 42nd minute to put the side in blue ahead.
The goal shook Cádiz up, and they went in search of a leveller, growing in stature as the second half went on. In the 78th minute Julia Lago got the equaliser from the penalty spot, giving Cádiz a huge lift.
Coella, in time added on, picked up the ball on the right, and from the edge of the area unleashed a shot without thinking. The ball flew in, with keeper Anna Reina watching on, unable to do anything. 2-1, Cádiz delighted and they repelled Huelva’s final attacks to ensure they picked up all three points.
