2-0 | Three points that taste good

Rubén Alcaraz and Idrissi score two goals to take three very important points.

The Cadista side came into the game very well, countering the Rayistas' attacks and combining the ball well to set up attacking moves. Six minutes into the game, Sergio González's side had their first chance of the game, when Choco shot into the hands of Luca Zidane from Alejo's right-wing cross. There were several dangerous moves from the Cádiz side, but the ball never found its way between the sticks.

After the half hour mark, Sergi Guardiola headed a good cross from Álvaro García over the crossbar from the edge of the box. It was the most dangerous move for the Rayistas. The Cadista side responded with several dangerous moves, coming closer and closer to Luca Zidane's goal.

The second half started better for the Cadistas, as was the case in the first half. The effort was rewarded in the fifty-fourth minute when Rubén Alcaraz headed home a corner to make the score one-nil. A few minutes later, Negredo had a good chance to score the second, but his shot from the edge of the pitch skimmed the post.

Sergio González's team continued to look for a goal and, just after the hour mark, Idrissi picked up a loose ball inside the box to slot home and make it 'two' for Cádiz. A goal that gave the home team a privileged position on the pitch, as they knew how to play with the result, withstand the Rayo's onslaught and arrive with danger.

Rayo put all their efforts into trying to close the gap on the scoreboard, having clear chances to make it 2-1, but the Cadiz defence worked hard to keep the danger out of their goal. Cadiz's good last few minutes kept the visitors' strikers away from Conan's goal and the score remained unchanged at the final whistle at 2-0. It all adds up to three more points to bring the goal closer.
