The early stages of the game saw an attacking performance from Cádiz that had Granada's goal in trouble. The most dangerous approaches in the opening minutes came from Iván Alejo and Santi Arzamendia on both flanks, while Robert Moreno's side defended as best they could in the hope of gaining possession and pinning the home side back.
As the half-hour mark approached, the Yellows had the most dangerous chances of the first half, with shots from Álex and Pacha being blocked by Maximiano, who was the main man in the Nazarí side's defensive actions. Just past the half hour mark, Santi Arzamendia's long-range shot was to go into the top corner of the Granada goal after touching Torrente, putting the Yellows ahead on the scoreboard.
Granada had chances in front of Conan's goal in the final minutes of the first half, although in stoppage time the Yellows responded with a couple of set-pieces that were blocked by the visitors' defence. With the score at one-nil, the two teams went into the changing rooms, with Granada returning with their lines further forward in search of an equaliser.
CadizCF, for their part, were pulling their lines together in the hope of breaking away from the visitors' dominance. As the minutes ticked by on the referee's clock, Cervera's men had a number of attacking chances. In the 81st minute, Pacha Espino had one of the biggest chances of the second half when he shot across the box. His shot went straight wide.
In the closing stages of the game, Jorge Molina took advantage of a rejected ball inside the box to beat Conan Ledesma with a low shot. A fortunate move that saw the visitors level the score. Then, the referee signalled the end and both teams shared the points.
